How can I lose pounds quick?
I know this sounds crazy, but I weigh 45 over what I normally do. Just got done with cancer treatments. I want to lose 12 pounds by Friday. I am willing to do some serious gym time. Ideas on food, and excersize plan?

- there is no quick way but spend 6 hours a day exercising. firstly, exercise. start with 30 minutes of cardio a day and increase the amount of time, over a period of 4 months, to an hour a day. when you are able to walk for 45 minutes, start to include resistance and weight training 3-4 days a week. secondly, eat! eating helps keep your metabolims revving and if you eat 6 times a day, you will burn more calories. eat high quality, low fat, high fiber food such as a rainbow of high fiber, brightly colored fruits and vegies every day. eat high fiber, whole wheat, whole grain carbohydrates such as wheat bread, wheat tortillas, whole wheat crackers, and cereals and oatmeal. eat lean proteins such as fish and chicken and soy products along with low/non fat dairy products. you should be eating around 1700 calories a day to lose weight and 2200 to maintain weight. make sure to drink plenty of water and green tea. and don't give up. even if you mess up, get back to your regimen. no one is perfect. and you should never feel deprived. treat yourself occasionally and if you eat sweets, limit yourself to one serving or a 1/2 of serving. good luck
- dont eat anything after 6, and excersize for 30-60 minutes everyday. also eat lots of little meals, instead of 3 main meals. my friend did this and lost 15 lbs in a month.
- Well the quickest way to lose weight is to eat 6 small portions a day coupled with exercise. It's good to exercise 3x a week.
- the only way to lose that much that fast is to cut off an arm or leg or sweat off excess water. try sweatin' to the oldies or something like that. watch sodium intake, expecially hidden in foods. and, i can't imagine you'd really care about your weight if you just finished cancer treatments! is this question for real? if not, try the amputation. :-(
- i agree with the comment before mine. its very informative and is also very true. there is really no way you can lose 12 pounds and keep them off so quickly. there is one way that celebrities do it. there is some sort of juice-program where you drink NOTHING and eat NOTHING but juices for several days...this is all done to clean your body..and will have you..on the potty for quite a period of time. they do this to lose weight quick and fast. but this doesnt lose fat..it looses..waste. which, you will gain back. do it the natural way, the safe way. diet and excersize.
- It's impossible to lose 12 pounds that quickly unless you have a LOT of water weight in you. If you do a detox plan, and you drink a TON of water, think 2 gallons a day, and flush your system out of all the water weight, and maybe take a light diuretic/water pill, you might be able to get some of that weight off. Besides that, avoid salt intake whatsoever (read labels for "sodium", a lot of products have hidden salt, even diet drinks!) Avoid diet drinks, avoid soda, avoid candy, chocolate, snacks, diet pills, and try to stay as natural and "organic" as possible. To keep yourself from starving eat about 1,200 calories a day, which should be enough to lose at least 4 pounds guaranteed if you do it right. But don't starve yourself as you'll gain it all back. When you lose water weight, you can lose up to 20 pounds in one week. Ask your doctor if your weight gain is because of your medication - and if its water retention or if it is actual body fat. If it's not water retention, it is not as possible. Avoid starving, avoid over-exercising as you'll be locked into a low metabolism setting by your body and your metabolism already sucks from cancer treatment (glad you're well now though).
- Hope to goodness you are recovering OK. Lets see---I would look up the foods I like and pick the ones with the low calorie amounts. Then, I would sort of plan out a diet, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would stick to it. I don't think you have to do a gigantic amount of exercise. After all, you do NOT want to run the risk of awakening some possibly sleeping cancer cells somewhere and that has been known to happen if you get under a lot of stress and your immune system goes down. Some good and moderat exercise should be fine along with the calorie reduction. NO dingdongs or snowballs. Ha
- reduce your sodium intake, cut out sugar and processed foods. Eat fruits and vegetables. If you were given cortisone you will have a lot of water weight gain. Keep trying even if you just loose 2 lbs
- you cant lose 12 lbs in 1 week only morbitly obese people can because of the diference of calaries compared to their normal diet. you could lose like 10-20lbs in a month by jogging 1-4kms a day. remember no runing and no walking and you will loose lots. Worked 4 me when my when i wasnt ven over weight.
