How long should it take to lose 50 pounds?
I'm female, 5'9, and weigh 179 I'd like to lose 50 lbs by April of 09. Is it possible to lose that with 30 mins of exercise 3x a week and 800 to 1000 cals a day?

- No it is not possible to loose 50 pounds by April if you are doing it the healthy way. You will probably loose 30 pounds by April if you firstly, increase you exercise. Three times a day for 30 mins is NOT enough. Try 5 times a week for an hour a day, and increase your calorie intake. I suggest about 1400 calories.
- I agree with the last answer. You might lose only 35- 40 lbs. I weigh 155 lbs. And I want to lose 10 lbs. I joined the gym back in July. and I have been going every day. I started at 170 lbs. Now I am at 155 lbs.
