What is a good workout routine to lose 50 pounds?
I'm trying to set up a weekly exercise routine so that I can lose 50 pounds. I'm 19, 5'5", and about 190-200 pounds. I'm also trying to eat healthier and in smaller portions and drink only water. I wanted to include jogging and sit-ups but I didn't know what else, or how many, how often, etc. Can anyone help me? Also, what about gatorade, powerade and sports drinks while working out? Would water be better? Thanks for your help!

- talk to your doctor about it. also, i recommend getting a personal trainer maybe? they would be more focused on getting you into shape in the best way possible. water beats out EVERYTHING. gatorade, powerade, EVERYTHING. your body isn't made up of mostly gatorade, now is it? you body craves water when you're thirsty, not some sugar energy drink.
- I was in a similar situation. I started at 5'4", 215 lbs, I'm now 179-ish. Start going to the gym, do the weight machines so you build muscle, also do cardio (running, elliptical, etc) sport drinks are empty calories, they are really only good for athletes because they are so high in calories. water is absolutely better! what really helped me was not allowing junk into my house, and calorie counting. I also bought an elliptical for at home, but I don't use it as much as I should, it's stuck in my bedroom (thats the only place with space for it)
- The trick to losing weight is to burn more calories than you take in. So watch it with the fast food and sodas. Sodas will ruin diets. If you dont wanna go outside.. try work out vids. Or just blast the music up in your room and dance. Make sure the door is locked so that no one walks in and sees you dancing like a moron. haha! But seriously.. do as I say.. i know what Im talkin about.
