How long will it take to lose 50 pounds?

If I start running, and eating about 1,500 calories a day how long would it take to lose 50 pounds? I'm about 5'8'' and 180 pounds. I am a female. I would also like a six-pack. How should I go about that? What kind of diet and exercising plan do I need?

  1. Well, depending on what you eat exactly, I'd say that would most likely take around 6-12 months. That's a realistic estimate, and I would be more concerned with getting the bulk of 35-40 off right now before going for the abs. If you can keep to it, I would suggest a low carb, high protein diet, because that's how I lost (and kept off) most of my weight. Also make sure to add variety in your exercise plan, and take a day or two off each week. Go running, that's great, but try walking, bilikin, dancing, etc.

  3. it depends. You'll lose weight quickly in the beginning if you are excercising too....but then it slows down. I lost 20 lbs in the first 2 months..but then was stuck at losing 2 lbs per week when i was dieting
