Lose pounds and inches

The best way to lose 40 pounds of pregnancy weight?

I just joined a gym and I know it's gonna take like 9 months to lose it, (it took 9 months to get it...) but I was just wondering what the best exercises are to do. Should I use the elliptical or the treadmill? For how long? What about the weight machines? Does Hydroxycut work? It says you lose 4.5 percent more then diet & exercise alone. Any suggestions?

  1. 6 to 8 small meals no bigger than ur palm of ur hand and no thicker than a deck of cards....choose healthy foods and ur on ur way to being fit was put on this diet when became diabetic to become un-diabetic with out the drugs and it works great! we as humans are plant eaters and supposed to be eating like that (foragers/hunters) since we evolved. it is hard to get used to at first but once u are used to it, it is easy, u fill up faster, and can have that no no yummy more often but as long as u keep it small. as for exercises...no need for drastic stuff, sit ups, jumping jacks, fast walking, the things u were taught in PE in school works just as good as the excessive stuff. Work out with ur infant and use as a weight. this way u get play time with ur child and work out all in one! Good Luck and u will feel better!
  2. Here are a few tips: 1. You MUST exercise if you want to lose weight and keep it off, so do something every day, even if it’s just a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. Don’t say you don’t have time for exercise; you have to MAKE time. Yes, it takes time and effort, but you’re worth it, right? 2. Walk as much as you want, but don’t do cardio for more than 40 minutes at a time. If you do, you risk burning muscle instead of fat. 3. If you do strength training, use light weights and do lots of repetitions. That’ll really help you “tone up.” 4. Your diet will make you or break you. You have probably learned bad eating habits over time (most people do). That’s not your fault, but now you have to deal with it. Make a commitment to yourself to unlearn those bad habits and re-learn better habits. 5. Eat breakfast every day within an hour of getting up. People who don’t are 450% more likely to be overweight. 6. Eat six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day. Your body expends energy digesting your food, so eating smaller portions more often keeps your metabolism running high because you’re constantly digesting food. 7. Avoid these as much as possible: -- Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil) -- High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it) -- Fast food -- Junk food -- White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes -- The deadly C’s (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola) 8. Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods: -- Nuts, any kind (almonds are best) -- Beans/Legumes -- Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!!!) -- Dairy products (as long as they’re low-fat or non-fat) -- Eggs -- Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list) -- Olive oil -- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta -- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in “berry” is a winner) -- Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea) -- Cold water or ice water (your body has to expend extra calories to heat it up) 9. Desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day – just don’t overdo, and (2) Allow yourself one “cheat meal” every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge yourself. That’ll help keep you from feeling deprived and it’ll make it easier to stick with your new healthy eating plan. Good luck!
  3. Hydroxycut didn't work for me. I would start off with some cardio (elliptical, treadmill, stairmaster) and do that for as long as you can. You might not be able to go for a long time right away, but build up to it. Try to add five minutes each time, or something to that effect. Then do some ab excercises and some light lifting or weight machines. If your gym offers classes then I would look into that. It's a great way to burn calories and it spices up your routine! I also agree with the person who said to incorporate working out with your child, that way you can spend time together as well! Good luck :]
  4. I would suggest the elliptical before the treadmill. I noticed results a lot faster. According to the calories burned recored I use, you burn almost double the amount of calories using a elliptical vs. a treadmill. Also make sure to use weights. It does not have to be heavy weights but it will increase your muscle mass, which will make you burn more calories, which will make you lose fat faster :) I don't know about Hydroxycut but I tried Slimquick and it gave a morning sick kind of feeling :( and now I am using Ali and really like it.
