I work nights deliverying papers and in the day i am stretched for time with 5 kids. Please send only sincere help options. thanks. a few years back i lost weight and it was 45 pounds. I ate pepperoni and drank fewer soda and ate lots of ice. I ate once a day only which was pepperoni though. I lost the wieght in 2-3 months. I didnt excerise really just climbed stairs at college twice a day. I have no excuses. I go to work then get kids ready and bring them 30 miles to school and clean house nap and go get older kids then it dinner time and bed for work. i m 175 pounds and 5'5-5'6 tall. I have heart issues and muscle problems. I do walk 35-30 mins but not helpping.I am not lazy and my friends say they dont know why i cant lose it. I dont eat breakfast, i eat lunch with dinner. I might have a small frozen dinner. Maybe for snack while working at 230am i have 5-10 pepperoni's. I put it on when i had to stay at a friends and they ate chicken nuggets for 3 meals a day with fries. Bad choice i know.

  1. I am not sure that fast and safely go together when you're talking about losing weight. 2 pounds a week is considered safe, but it's not fast. As for losing weight, there's no secret that it's a combination of a healthy diet and exercise.
  2. Walking...it's easy, and it dosen't cost a thing. Also use fat free foods lots of salads and chicken, watch your calorie intake and drink alot of water, you have to put time and energy into weight loss, it is not a 6 month thing it is a lifetime commitment, once you reach your goal, you have to maintain it. Good Luck!
  3. ummm good luck!! but it sounds lik u need 2 stop makin excuses 4 urself!!
  4. Never too quickly!! Safely, you should allow about 2-3 months to lose 40 lbs. On average, you should safely lose no more than 2-3 lbs per week. Any more and you could run serious health risks. Exercising is also included in this. Eat your three meals. But, try to add more carbs...but, the cimplex kind (pasta) and not too much protein (meat). Not good to drastically change diet. Also, take away too much sugary foods and sweet and alcohol
  5. I watch what I eat and run for 30 minutes when my Son goes to sleep. It will come off trust me. Set yourself small goals and if you have a 'bad' day just tell yourself you will start again tomorrow. Good Luck and have patience.
  6. The Dr. Atkins diet will help you to lose 40 pounds however it won't be real fast. It will be over a period of several weeks. A quick weigh loss you generally gain right back anyway. You can find this diet on the web, it is mainly foods you would normally have on hand and you don't have to order them or buy special brands.
  7. Try Tony Littles workouts,he is great. He is motivating, informative and you don't need equipment to do his exercises. I saw the DVDs an VHS at my library and maybe they have them at yours.Cut the carbs and eat plenty of protein and fiber. Drink nothing but water or lowfat milk,if you can handle the taste. Good luck.
  8. Sorry with out exercise you will never do it. Stop making excuses.
  9. cutting out carbohydrates is a big key to losing weight. Limit yourself to only 20 grams of carbs per day and do that for 2 weeks. after that, increase your carb intake 5 grams per week until you ge into that weight management. There are lots of recipes for low carb eaters. food network has recipes that are low carb. Check them out. I lost 25 pds doing this, I eat carbs, i just limit my intake, and having 2 boys, I get plenty of exercise. Good luck to you and I hope you do it.
  10. I am on weight watchers, at start I lost almost 3 pounds a week then it slowed down/plateaued to 1 pound a week, my councilor said add exercise in my routine, change my diet/food (weight watchers has 2 types of diet). So i switch to core plan, mainly vegetables and fruits, limit meat as much as possible then walked at least 30 mins. most of the week. I started loosing 1.5 to 2.5 pounds a week again. It might seem little, but look at it this way, 1.5 pounds a week is 6 pounds a month!!!!!! I think that is really fast. At some point our body becomes used to what we eat/input and what we do/output, so variety is important. Rule of thumb, portion control..small food, big activity......as they say if you don't want your belt to be supersize, then don't supersize your food. good luck and be patient.
  11. you need to lose 40 lbs fast and safely. you have 5 kids which means you can't afford to go on one of those diets where it drains all the energy out of you. as far as the money goes. you have to lose something to gain something. if you were able to do it on your own you wouldn't really be asking this question on the net. the truth is there is no magic pill. you would have to join one of those medically supervised diet programs. since you mention safety, you'd have to make sure that nobody is making you take any appetite suppressants or other diet pills. with 5 kids, you need energy. you can visit the website, www.livelighteatright.com but this program isn't cheap. the results are guaranteed though. if you email them, a doctor will personally reply back to you, regarding your specific situation. whatever you decide to do, don't do anything risky. no matter how much overweight, you must be a beautiful mother to your kids. and thats all that matters. for now, just cut all complex carbs from your diet. which means no bread, past etc. eat lots of vegetables. drink lots of water. give up all other beverages except water. that should help. dieting must be really hard with 5 kids around so its oging to be a challenge for you. may be you can even start with something simple as weight watchers online and see how much weight you lose. i've known people who lost about 10-15 lbs on that diet. with some people the initial pounds come off fairly easy. so you might just save some money before going in for something expensive.
  12. find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose. eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours) 5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day 8 glasses of water have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily. ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
