- you are most likely to lose inches first. which is more important. when you work out you burn muscle... muscle eats fat.. muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less room. muscle fiber tissue is more dense that fat.. so most likely you will notice a decrease in inches rather than pounds first. you should also work out your quads and back muscles first.. they are your biggest muscle groups.. they get that fat eaten up real quick.

- definitely inches. i myself have lost 1 inch off my waist and 1.5 off my hips and i have gained 2 pounds! dont get discouraged, it will even out later.
