How can I lose 5 pounds every week?
I know the healthy way to lose weight is to lose 2 pounds a week, but I want to lose atleast 5. How would I be able to do that?

- Have your arm amputated. Fairly healthy - and FAST! Sorry - couldn't resist. Ignore me.
- You can lose quite a few pounds at the beginning of a detox program. I lost 12lbs in 9 days using Isagenix. It can be done at least initially. Good luck
- That will really depend on how much goes IN and how much you are putting OUT. Exercise is all important. Diet alone will get you "thinner" but it certainly won't make you any healthier and will definetely be SLOWER than both together. Anyone will tell you that if you are ABLE, exercise will speed things along - including your digestion and bowel evacuation. And DO NOT use laxatives! It does NOT impact your weight... just your WATER and other vital fluid levels... don't take dangerous "short-cuts". That said, with this caveat - see your doctor if you need to lose more than a few pounds because the kind of weight loss you're talking about can be life threatening to SOME. Here's how to do it if you can stick to it. Don't use this every week. Eat responsibly. Smaller portions, smaller body. But this will get you started. Soup and Atkins bars (no other, others have NO fiber!). They're our friend. If you really want to lose weight fast and don't have time to wait for the "normal" and "healthy" weight loss of 2 pounds a week, this is how I do it when I am frustrated with "time". If you belong to Sam's Club this will be a lot cheaper, but if not, a week's worth of Atkins bars won't break most budgets. Get some Peanut Butter and Chocolate or other flavors, but this one tastes best to most people - and no don't eat them if you are allergic to peanuts! The next flavor that is tolerable to most is the Fudge Brownie. Make sure whatever flavor you are getting has 10 grams (yep, it's THAT high!) of fiber. Eat one of these bars in the morning about 30-45 min after you get up. Drink water after you eat the bar - that fiber will carry you until "dinner" - between 5-6 PM. Drink a decent sized glass full of water - filtered/bottled please. Drink water and diet soda the rest of the day until dinner and after dinner. Water helps move things alone. Without it, the fiber you are now getting will BIND you up. Can you say constipated? OUCH! Soup - the soups I found that work best are ones that have a low calorie count and a HIGH fiber count. Campbell's: Split Pea and Ham with bacon, Beef with Vegetables and Barley, Read lables... don't eat anything that has a huge carbohydrate count. One other thing for dinner... one slice of really good whole grain bread. REAL WHEAT BREAD... read the label... Look for a good FIBER RICH bread that has at least 3 grams of fiber per slice. Put some GOOD margarine on ONE piece of bread with your soup - good margarines include: Promise Take Control Flora Olivio Smart Balance (this one miffs me, but it still works for some) Benecol Look for ANY margarine that has NO trans fats and LOW saturated fat. Olive oil is great for heart/health, so if you're a real health nut, mix a bit of your favorite margarine (I find that Promise (cheaper) and Take Control (a bit expensive) taste best to me) and a bit of olive oil in one of your used tubs and store it in the refrigerator... better for you than just margarine alone. The taste is everything... if you don't like the strong taste of straight olive oil, there are "light" olive oils out there that don't take like olives. I use that one in cooking when recipes call for oil. Walk! Go DO something. Don't sit in front of the computer, tv, game, or other "thing" including a sit-all-day job and expect to lose a dang thing. If you body is at rest you will find that you will not be losing much at all. Only when we MOVE does calorie burning occur. Walk AT LEAST 30 minutes. Don't stroll and DON'T take huge steps when you walk. When you walk, you should just barely be able to hold a conversation without huffing and puffing. If you are out of breath, you are walking too fast. If you can't do a 30 minute stint, do THREE 10 minute sessions instead. It's proven that doing 3 10 minute walks instead of none is better than NONE and does just about as much as the 30 minute. As long as you're not "strolling" or "taking a little, slow walk" it's doing what you intended, which is getting your heart rate up. Even after you stop, your body will be burning more calories than it would have been if you hadn't moved. Find ways to move more. Be creative. Exercise while watching your favorite show. If it's intense, great! You will find you will be pushing more during those intense moments. Go to Craigslist!!! Buy a good (not cheap, do what you can here) treadmill or elliptical. Most people buy these things and then find they don't have the motivation or the ROOM to stash these great machines. I find that living in a very rainy area, that I MUST exercise indoors and getting to a gym isn't always possible. Find a gym! Watch those "Valpak" coupon mailers and see if there is a place in your area that is doing "specials". Watch out for the "gimmes" - those charges that will hit you over and over again or one HUGE "joining fee" - if you can't work around those don't do it. You should be able to find a month to month place that costs around $20-$30 - NO MORE. My silly YMCA costs a whopping $80+a month! Must be gold seats on those exercise machines! Calm. Be good to yourself and find time each day to just sit for five to ten minutes and just BE. Meditation time is important. Whether you "pray" or just empty your mind, your mind needs the rest to be able to give you what you need. Sleep. Don't drink caffeine 4-5 hours before bed unless you enjoy tossing and turning at night. Most people need AT LEAST 6-7 hours of solid rest to be able to function without brain fog. If you are staying up late at night with "insomnia" either stop staying up or get some help. Your body needs dark to recharge and daytime sleeping (unless you're using blackout curtains and are a night worker) isn't good for your brain or body. Cheers! ~atheria
