- I lost 100 pounds and it took me about a year. I lost the first 50 over about 4 months. Keep a pad in your kitchen. When you eat something, write the exact calories in the pad. Try to stay around 1500 to 2000 calories per day. You will notice that some things you've been eating have a lot of calories. And you'll find out that some things are very low in calories and you can eat more. Using the pad will teach you a lot. Exercise--For losing weight, it's consistent cardio. I recommend getting a stationery bike for your home. Try to get on it everyday. Go for about 45 minutes. Do it while watching TV. Don't go hard. Just get on it. You'll drop 40 before you know it.
