How can I lose inches AND pounds?
I want to lose a minimum of 12 pounds and a minimum of 1 1/2 inches off both my waist and hips before June 26. I talked to my doctor and she said that with the rate of my metabolism and with my body structure, it's a very realistic goal. I just don't know how to achieve it. I'm also on a 1200 calorie diet. This is my exercise routine: Treadmill (five days a week 20 minutes of running, 10 minutes of walking) Swimming (three days a week, and I only touch the pool floor when I get in and out of the pool) I don't know any other cardio I can do (the treadmill is the only equipment I can use) I don't really want to build muscle, so nothing with weights please. I know I have to have some muscle, but I don't to intentionally build it. I'm 14 years old

- Do skipping (jump rope) it really helps
- stop eating and poop a lot
- drop your ruler and your british money off a cliff
- 12 lbs+ can be lost just by getting out all the crud in your bowels that's been building up for years. After that, the things you are already doing will pay off. Drink some Milk of Magnesia !
- Jump Rope ! ! It really will get your heart pumping and you will deff. burn some calories! =)
- do an aerobics dance class. it works everything and all them moving will cause u to lose pounds and inches at the same time
- INCREASE UR METABOLISM BY EATING BANANAS AND EXERCISING FOR AT LEAST 30 MIN, BUT IF OVER 17 WORKOUT FOR 30- 1 HOUR. HOWEVER, DON'T STRESS YOU CAN GAIN WEIGHT FROM THAT. TRY SWIMMING THIS EXERCISES ALL YOUR MUSCLES!!!!
- Do cardio and light weights. You need to tone up. You need to build your muscle to burn the fat that is there..not get bulky, tone. Also, check the calories you are eating. You may not be eating ENOUGH good calories for the energy your body needs to lose...crazy but true. Some diets will allow you to lose with out exercise..not healthy though. I lost using physicans weight loss center, if you have one. NO exercise! You will gain it back though if you dont keep it up. That is where the exercise comes into play and builds your body. Good luck!
- just keep doin wut ur doin AND skip 5,000 HOT PEPPER jumps every day~PERSEVERE!!!!!
- you can likemno eat
- start doing (High intensity) HIT cardio on the treadmill - i used to train that way for hockey and it kicks ur a... instead of running for 20 and walking for 10, alternate between the two for 30 minutes example: start out jogging for the first minute then go on an all out sprint for two minutes following then take it down to a walk for 30 seconds and repeat the cycle this is a hardcore way to train because you jack your metabolism even higher and continue to burn calories after your cardio session - standard cardio usually just burns while your actually exercising
- you should do plyometrics it burns off alot more calories than just running. just go to youtube and type in plyometrics on the search engine. and you can see some videos were it shows some plyometric workouts.
- cardio. there are a lot of toning exercises like crunches, sit ups, and whatnot that you can do without weights. If you plan to lose more inches you'll eventually have to start lifting something or take up pilates or something that involves toning besides running. That will only tone your legs, thighs, and butt. For the rest of your body to lose inches you'd have to do other types of toning because cardio will only go so far to lose lbs and inches.
- You did not say how long you have been on the exercise routine? try walking- brisk walk a square about 4 blocks on a side this shound be about two miles total. walk it twice per day and note the times with a stopwatch. 2nd week cut the time by 5 minutes, 3rd week -5minutes etc. 4 week add a pair of 1 lb ankle weights and repeat. I know you said no weights but you want good looking legs don't you. good looking legs take muscles. don not get too low on the calories or you will go into starvation mode and loose muscle and gain fat or hold your weight
- I didn't even get to your exercise routine before clicking to answer your question. Your body is starving!!! First, you need to eat more than 1200 calories and your doctor should lose her medical license if she told you to eat 1200 calories. You need to eat more and if you don't your are depriving your body of important nutrients. Load up on the veggies, healthy chicken breast and eat healthy grains. Don't forget to snack on some fruits, nuts (don't load the salt), and other tasty healthy treats. Stay away from those sugar loaded vitamin water beverages, they are maufactured by soda companies which are famous for making all drinks taste sweet. Now that I told you to eat, lets take a look at your exercise. Be proud of yourself for wanting to exercise and keep doing it however, make sure you include those weights. I know you don't want to become a body builder, but working those muscles is very important and should not be overlooked or skipped. Keep working out but try adding some other activities so you won't get bored. If you're cool with the swimming and treadill then have at it, but be smart about your workout. Include warming up and cooling down. Also, do you stretch? Don't injure yourself by not letting your body know what its about to do. So my overall advice is to up those calories since you're working out and give your workout a little "umph" by looking into an hour with a qualified personal trainer or look online for a support group. Let me assure you that I know what I am talking about. I don't mind sharing my numbers so here goes. I used to be 170lbs at my heaviest and was overweight as a child. A few years ago I decided to change my life by making health a priority. I have a small frame and carrying those extra pounds was not healthy physically or emotionally so I put down the extra scoop of ice cream and did something about it. I did not deprive myself of anything but helped myself realize that I didn't need to consume a ton of food in one sitting and still enjoy eating, living and exercising. I dropped 60lbs and have loved my new life. The only draw back is that I did not start lifting any weights until further into my quest for a healthy body, which caused my skin to sag a some. I'm small but its noticeable and I don't enjoy a swim suit. From my journey this is what I have learned and hope it helps. 1. Did you know that you don't have to be a doctor to sell, or market a diet plan. Don't use them. If you must be on a strict plan; get a team of qualified people on your side to address the medical issue. Diets are bad for you body and its better to just be overweight than to continually confuse your body and deprive yourself. Learn about yourself and remember that NO DIET replaces making good food choices and exercising. 2. Exercise smart. Be sure to include all of the components of a healthy work out. Warm-up, cardio, cool down, weightlifting, stretching. All of it is important and if you are unsure about something - LEARN. 3. Eat. You have to eat and not eating or depriving yourself will only damage your body. If you don't fuel up then what does your body have to exercise. You need the energy from food to burn off the fat or extra inches. Be sure to get your energy from good sources of food. Making better choices gets difficult since we are often given the wrong information when trying to lose weight. Any program that requires only one bowl of cereal for a meal, a shake or some other rediculous way of representing a meal, is a program that is bogus and unhealthy. Get healthy and get results by eating what you love and moving. There's really no secret.
