If you lose a certain number of pounds, how many inches will you lose?

Is there a way to figure out how many inches to pounds you'll lose while dieting and exercising? Like if I lost 10 pounds, how many inches would I lose? Or is it different for everybody?

  1. It's different for everyone. It all depends on build and muscle mass. If you're 5'3" ten pounds could be up to three pant sizes, but if you're 5'10" it could means the size you're in just starts to not be so tight. Also, I have a friend who is 5'4", weighs 186 pounds, and wears a size four. She's basically solid muscle, and that's why. As I said, it all just depends.
  2. It is different for everyone. Chances are if you are shorter 10lb weight loss will be more inches than if you are taller. I'm 5ft2 and find about 5lb-6lb = 1 inch of my waist, but for someone of 5ft10 is might be 7lb-8lb = 1 inch off the waist.
